A weak low pressure system and its attendant frontal boundaries will move across eastern Kansas and Missouri this afternoon and tonight. Low level moisture will slowly increase today, setting the stage for scattered thunderstorm development. The thunderstorms are expected to develop by the middle of this afternoon, in the vicinity of the frontal boundaries, with the storms to move east and southeast into southern and eastern Missouri during the nighttime hours. Some of the storms may be severe with large hail and damaging winds the primary threats. In addition, an isolated tornado is also possible.
