AIRS Cloud-Cleared Radiances sample product This product is similar to AIRI2CCF. However, it contains science retrievals that use AIRS only and is produced in case the AMSU instrument fails (radiomeetric noise in AMSU channel 4 started to incase). Cloud-Cleared Radiances are produced along with the AIRS Standard Product, as they are the radiances used to retrieve the Standard Product. They are an order of magnitude larger in data volume than that of the Standard Products and many Standard Product users are expected to have little interest in the Cloud Cleared Radiances. For these reasons, they are produced as separate output files, but, like the Standard Product, will be generated at all locations. An AIRS granule has been set as 6 minutes of data. This will normally correspond to approximately 1/15 of an orbit but exactly 45 scanlines of AMSU-A data or 135 scanlines of AIRS and HSB data. GES DISC Data Access | ESDT Shortname:

To plot AIRS cloud-cleared radiation (converted
to brightness temperatures) on satellite projection:
(can save the image as well)
idl -novm -rt=air2ccflook.sav -args filename
channel_number(option)
If channel_number is not given,
the default is 766 at 11.08 micrometer.
Example:
idl -novm -rt=air2ccflook.sav –args
