The estimated number of adults and adolescents living with HIV infection (not AIDS) ranged from 1 in American Samoa to 45,712 in New York. Numbers of persons living with HIV infection (not AIDS) do not reflect actual counts of cases reported to the surveillance system. Rather, the estimates are based on numbers of reported cases, which have been adjusted for delays in the reporting of cases and deaths.](images/slide6.gif)
