USAID Lebanon: From the American People

PROGRAMS: Investing in Youth

Better learning environments
Investing in children’s education is one of the most important contributions any society can make for the future. USAID is currently repairing and providing new equipment for more than 200 public schools across the country. About 75,000 students attend these schools.

Scholarships
USAID offers scholarships for children and youth to attend American-style schools and universities in Lebanon. The scholarships allow them to attend the American University of Beirut, Lebanese American University, American Community School and the International College. At least 40-50 percent of those receiving scholarships are women and girls. All come from families who need the assistance.
