| On the Cover. Almost daily it seems that parents can add to their list of childhood health fears some new disorder that may affect their child's ability to learn and function. It's not scientifically clear whether neurologic maladies as autism, ADHD, epilepsy, and others are really increasing or whether we're just more aware of them, so new and greater attention is being focused on finding answers. The Focus (p. A100) examines the latest thinking on how neurodevelopment progresses, how the process can be affected by environmental agents, and how we start to figure out what this ultimately means for the cognitive health of children.
