Join Rep. Blumenauer This Friday for a Health Care Telephone Town Hall
Congressman Blumenauer has been focused on fixing America’s broken health care system so that everyone has access to quality, affordable care. The time for reform is now, and we cannot afford to compromise or wait to act. Oregonians have a lot of questions about what Congress is considering, and Rep. Blumenauer wants the opportunity to talk with you about what reform will do for YOU and your family.
The next Telephone Town Hall is this Friday, August 14th, from 1:00-2:00pm
Special guest Commerce Secretary Gary Locke
If you want to join the Telephone Town Hall, sign up for Earl's E-newsletter and BE SURE TO INCLUDE YOUR PHONE NUMBER so we can call you. The call will be free.
Listen to Tuesday Night's Telephone Town Hall: PART 1 and PART 2
What is a Telephone Town Hall? A Telephone Town Hall is like an in-person Town Hall but more people can participate at the same time from the comfort of their own home or any location where you have access to a telephone or cell phone.
You will hear directly from Congressman Blumenauer and have the opportunity to personally ask him questions. Because of the number of people participating, Congressman Blumenauer won’t be able to take everyone’s questions but he will answer as many as possible and address a wide range of topics about health care reform.
We need your phone number to make the connection for the Telephone Town Hall. The call is free and you can stay on the line or listen with a speaker phone to Congressman Blumenauer and others participating in the Telephone Town Hall for as long as you like.
I want to correct some grave mischaracterizations of the health care reform legislation, America’s Affordable Health Choices Act (H.R. 3200). Anti-health reform groups are misconstruing a provision of the legislation, which enjoys broad support in Congress, to provide coverage under Medicare for people to talk to their doctor about their wishes and care preferences at the end of life.
Rep. Blumenauer speaks on the House Floor on July 27, 2009 on quality, patient centered care.

On Heels of Health Care Reform, Bills would Help Improve End of Life Care & Reward Efficient State Care
Washington, DC – Rep. Earl Blumenauer (D-Ore.) today introduced three pieces of legislation that would significantly improve end of life care, reward states like Oregon for providing quality health care efficiently, and examine and improve regional differences in Medicare services. As a member of the Ways and Means Subcommittee on Health Care, Rep. Blumenauer is working to include these bills in the comprehensive health care reform bill currently being drafted.

Washington, DC – Rep. Earl Blumenauer (D-Ore.) voted early this morning to pass America’s Affordable Health Choices Act, HR 3200.
