A new on-the-fly (OTF) subset service is now available. This service allows users to perform spatial and parameter subsetting before downloading the GLDAS products.

08.04.08 - Users can now access the 3-hourly and monthly VIC products through the GrADS Data Server (GDS). GDS users can perform subsetting and analysis operations across the internet.

07.14.08 - Global 1.0 degree 3-hourly and monthly products from the Variable Infiltration Capacity (VIC) model can now be obtained through anonymous ftp and the Mirador service.
Monthly GLDAS products reprocessed
06.10.2008 - The monthly GLDAS products were reprocessed in June 2008. Soil temperature information has been included in the reprocessed products. Both energy balance and water balance parameters were combined in the output files

Monthly 0.25 degree Noah products available from HDISC
04.16.2008 - Global monthly averaged 0.25 degree Noah products from the Global Land Data Assimilation System (GLDAS) are now available from the Hydrology DISC (HDISC). The monthly 0.25 degree Noah products are generated from temporal averaging of the 3-hourly products. This data set covers the period from 2000 to the present. These products can be downloaded from:
GLDAS products available from the GrADS Data Server (GDS)
02.20.2008 - The GrADS Data Server (GDS, formerly known as GrADS-DODS Server) is a stable, secure data server that provides subsetting and analysis services across the internet. The core of the GDS is OPeNDAP, a software framework used for data networking that makes local data accessible to remote locations.
Monthly Averaged GLDAS Data now Available From the HDISC
10.05.2007 - The monthly averaged products are generated from temporal averaging of the 3-hourly products. Currently, HDISC distributes 1.0 degree resolution monthly data from 1979 to present for four land surface models (CLM, Mosaic, Noah and VIC).
