The Gynecologic Cancer Foundation (GCF) was founded by the Society of Gynecologic Oncologists (SGO) in 1991. GCF’s mission, in concert with SGO, is to support research, education and public awareness of gynecologic cancer prevention, early detection and optimal treatment.

When you hear the words gynecologic cancer, learn to say gynecologic oncologist.
GCF is proud to introduce the Gynecologic Oncologist Awareness Campaign. Recently accumulated research shows that women diagnosed with a reproductive cancer, especially ovarian and uterine (endometrial) cancers, experience improved outcomes when treated first by a gynecologic oncologist. Gynecologic oncologists are physicians specially trained to provide comprehensive treatment of women with cancer. Please call 800.444.4441 or visit the Women's Cancer Network to find a gynecologic oncologist near you. more

Mark your calendars for the weekend of November 6-8, 2009—the inaugural Gynecologic Cancer Awareness Movement Weekend and GCF’s half marathon/5K race. Join gynecologic cancer doctors; survivors and their families and friends; members of the advocacy community; and over 3,000 runners and walkers in Washington, DC for this exciting awareness-raising weekend. more

GCF Surgeons Raise Awareness through Rock

With each case, their highest hope is to deliver the sweetest words a cancer patient can hear: "No Evidence of Disease." more
