NIST WWW CKMech
Summary - The NIST/CSTL/PMD Reacting Flows Group has developed a WWW accessible, interactive site for chemical kinetic mechanisms called CKMech. It was developed to make available data in a report entitled Thermochemical and Chemical Kinetic Data for Fluorinated Hydrocarbons. These data were compiled, reviewed, and evaluated for a project entitled Flame Inhibition Chemistry and the Search for Additional Fire Fighting Chemicals that was sponsored by the Air Force and other agencies. For more information please see these reports or contact us.

For thermochemical and other data for a wider range of molecules, please see the NIST Chemistry Webbook.

Molecular Species Data
search by chemical formula/class.
Chemical Reaction Data
search by reactants/products.
File Cabinet Literature Citations
search by author, keyword.
Flow Chart Chemical Kinetic Mechanisms
download in CHEMKIN format.

Disclaimer 1 - CKMech should only be considered as a source for Fluorinated Hydrocarbons. CKMech also makes available data for other species and reactions contained in other thermochemical or kinetic databases. These data have not been checked for accuracy and one should refer to the original sources for verification. These data must be considered as simply included here for reference and demonstration purposes only. For more information please contact us.
Disclaimer 2 - CKMech should only be considered as a source for Chemical Kinetic Mechanisms. Currently, this includes essentially only Fluorinated Hydrocarbons. We are not making a recommendation that the individual thermochemical or chemical kinetic data contained here are the best data nor the only data available for these purposes. For the mechanisms included here we are suggesting these data with a goal of being self-consistent. These data are not meant to replace existing compilations and evaluations such as the JANAF tables, CODATA values, or other works by Pedley et al, Cox et al, Stull et all, Wagman et al, Gurvich et al, or Lias et al. This would also include the NIST Chemistry Webbook, which provides data from these prior compilations and evaluations in electronic form through the web.

NOTE - We apologize in advance if this site does not work correctly from time to time. The location and availability of the html files, search programs, and cgi scripts are currently (August 1998) changing. It will eventually settle down.
