Singapore's Nationwide Next Generation National Broadband Network Deployment On Track
The Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) today announced the successful achievement of the Contractual and Financial Close (CFC) by OpenNet, Singapore's Next Generation National Broadband Network (Next Gen NBN) Network Company (NetCo). OpenNet has been issued a Facilities-Based Operator Licence for it to commence the roll out of the Next Gen NBN. |

Singapore Hosts 39th Meeting of the APECTEL Working Group
IDA recently hosted the 39th meeting of the APEC Telecommunications & Information Working Group (APECTEL 39) in Singapore. More than 250 officials and telecom regulators from 21 APEC Member Economies gathered to discuss and exchange views on issues such as broadband deployment, development of new technologies, mutual recognition arrangement and resiliency of the cyberspace. |

New 'Integrated Infocomm Scholarship' That Supports Students From Polytechnic To University
The Integrated Infocomm Scholarship is a new scholarship programme, offered by the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) that was announced in February 2009. It will provide support to outstanding 'O' level students to pursue infocomm studies from polytechnic straight through to university level, and to subsequently pursue an infocomm career. |

Call-for-Collaboration to Deploy Contactless POS Terminals
IDA today announced the deployment of Contactless POS Terminals Call-for-Collaboration (CFC). The wide availability of contactless POS terminals, allowing consumers to make contactless payments, will serve as a means to effect a change in consumer habits towards e-payment adoption. This is one of the important infrastructural pieces required to support new mobile payment solutions enabled by Near Field Communication (NFC) technology. Submissions close on 1 June 2009. |

The Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) invites interested parties to participate in the Integration of Trade and Logistics Processes through the TradeXchange® initiative. This Call-for-Collaboration (CFC) seeks interested companies to submit proposals to form a consortium to integrate its key trade and logistics IT systems, business processes and data through the TradeXchange®. Submissions close on 15 June 2009. |
