Paying tribute to humanitarian workers
19 August 2009 -- World Humanitarian Day celebrates the life-saving work of humanitarians helping people affected by emergencies, and honours those staff who have lost their lives while serving others. It also underscores current challenges in providing humanitarian care, particularly in health, to people affected by wars, natural disasters and other emergencies.
