U.S. Embassy Grants $46,000 to Help Preserve Wayang Culture
Jakarta – U.S. Embassy Jakarta has provided a $46,000 grant to the Wayang Museum in order to help support the preservation of Indonesia’s Wayang culture. U.S. Embassy’s Counselor for Public Affairs Michael H. Anderson symbolically turned over the award with a plaque to DKI Jakarta’s Deputy Governor for Tourism and Culture Aurora Tambunan, at a ceremony marking the Museum’s 34th anniversary.

Indonesian Students to Study in the U.S. for Graduate Degrees
Jakarta – Twenty-four talented young Indonesian professionals departed today for the United States today to study for their Master’s and Doctoral degrees in education, environment, economics, management, health, public policy, and regional planning. They will study at various U.S. universities courtesy of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID)’s Human and Institutional Capacity Development Project (HICD).

U.S. Government Awards Grants Encouraging Clean Energy and Improved Water Supply in Indonesia
Jakarta – The U.S. Trade and Development Authority (USTDA) awarded separate grants to PT Medco Downstream Indonesia (Medco) and Persatuan Perusahaan Air Minum Seluruh Indonesia (PERPAMSI) that underscore the Obama Administration’s support for a comprehensive partnership between the United States and Indonesia. The grants encourage energy diversification, and improved water supply services in Indonesia.
