Join with ARAMARK in celebrating Earth Day Month!
- Eat-in Promotions
- To reduce the amount of disposable food containers and products, ARAMARK will be holding two "Eat-in" promotions in the month of April:
- Punch-out cards for free products for dine-in customers all month
- Free cookies to dine-in customers between April 20-24
- Java City Eco-Grounds
- Do you know the environmental impacts of a cup of coffee? Transportation costs, pesticide use, and land use are all aspects of coffee production. To reduce the environmental impacts associated with coffee consumption, ARAMARK is now offering Eco-Grounds, Fair Trade Certified coffees, from Java City. Fair Trade ensures that farmers are given a fair price, which helps create a better quality of life for farmers and promotes sustainable growing practices. Enjoy your Eco-Ground coffee in a cup and lid made with recycled content and a Java Jacket made from 70% recycled fiber.
- Thursday Farmer's Market Specials
- Eating locally grown, seasonal fruits and vegetables can help eliminate transportation costs (on average food can travel 1500 miles from out of state farmers to your plate). To help support local farmers and reduce LANL’s carbon footprint, ARAMARK is collaborating with the Los Alamos Farmer’s Market to offer a Farmer’s Market Special at the Otowi Cafeteria every Thursday beginning Earth Day Week. Come join the slow food movement beginning April 23rd!
