Welcome to the Diseases and Conditions Index (DCI) podcast page. The DCI is a quick, easy, and dependable source of information on heart, lung, and blood diseases and sleep disorders. Podcasts allow you to listen to the information on your MP3 player or computer.

We offer podcasts in two formats:

  • Enhanced podcasts, which offer chapter markers for easy navigation.
    • Enhanced podcasts play on any iPod video player.

High blood pressure (HBP) is a serious problem that can lead to a number of health problems. About 1 in 3 adults in the United States has HBP. HBP itself usually has no symptoms. You can have it for years without knowing it. This is why knowing your blood pressure numbers is important, even when you're feeling fine. If your blood pressure is normal, you can work with your health care team to keep it that way. If your blood pressure is too high, treatment can help prevent damage to your body's organs.

Sarcoidosis is a disease of unknown cause that leads to inflammation and can affect various organs in the body. The outcome of sarcoidosis varies.
