Center for Substance Abuse Treatment and Center for Mental Health Services Financing and Data

These projects are jointly sponsored by SAMHSA's Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT) and the Center for Mental Health Services (CMHS).

Spending Estimates for Mental Health and Substance Abuse

This Project provides the national spending estimates for mental health (MH) services and substance abuse (SA) treatment. Given the prevalence of morbidity and mortality related to mental and substance use disorders and their wider societal impacts, it is important to know how much the United States is investing in treatment of mental and substance use disorders.

Integrated Medicaid and State Agency Mental Health and Substance Abuse Data Analysis and Technical Assistance

Project goals center on integration of MH, SA, and Medicaid data: technical assistance on data integration topics, and creation of state-specific reports. Given the multiple settings in which Americans receive MH and SA treatments, data integration is vital for understanding patient usage patterns.
