Work in
progress |
At Launch Pad 39A, preparations continue on schedule
for Space Shuttle Endeavour’s launch on Friday at 12:30 p.m. Today, workers
will complete aft compartment close-outs and tomorrow the launch countdown
begins at 5:30 p.m.
Last week, technicians completed work to replace
and retest Endeavour’s enhanced master events controller No. 2. On Friday,
Shuttle ordnance was reinstalled, and over the weekend workers replaced a cable
located in the Shuttle’s umbilical harness. No significant issues are being
worked by the KSC launch team, and launch day weather is expected to be
generally favorable.
The STS-99 flight crew returned to KSC today at
about noon. Over the next few days, crew members will undergo routine health
checks, take flights in the Shuttle Training Aircraft and perform final crew
equipment checks.
