Operations proceed on schedule to prepare Shuttle
Endeavour for launch on Friday, Feb. 11 at 12:30 p.m. The faulty Master Events
Controller (MEC) was removed and replaced yesterday from Endeavour's aft engine
compartment and testing of the replacement MEC indicated the new controller is
operating properly. Work to reconnect ordnance is currently underway and aft
engine compartment closeouts will be complete Monday, Feb. 7.
The crew will return to KSC at about 12 noon on
Monday. The launch countdown will begin at the 43-hour mark at 5:30 p.m. on
Tuesday, Feb. 8.
