African American Heritage Month Committee
The primary objective is to plan, implement, coordinate and communicate, to the Federal sector, contributions that African-Americans are making in our society, with specific programs during the month of January and February in accordance with the designated theme for the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday and Black History Month. The African American Heritage Month Committee also recognizes Middle School students by sponsoring an Art and Essay contest during Black History month.

Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Committee
This committee will help to promote ADR as a cost-effective means of resolving disagreements in the workplace. The current Interagency ADR Consortium will be strengthened and training needs will be identified and addressed.

Asian American Heritage Month Committee
The primary objective is to increase public awareness of the contributions that Asian-Americans are making in our society; to introduce cultural traditions of the various Asian communities to the public; and to attract cooperation from all the various nationality groups that make up the local Asian-American community. Each year this committee hosts an event during Asian American Heritage Month that honors and recognizes the outstanding Asian American high school students from our region.

Commons Needs Training Committee
Most Federal agencies have common needs for training including leadership, professional development and pre-retirement training. This committee attempts to identify critical common needs training and through sharing resources and expertise offer low or no cost training.

Emergency Dismissal Committee
This interagency committee deals primarily with hazardous weather conditions affecting Federal agencies in the Pittsburgh area. When an emergency condition develops, the committee convenes and reaches a consensus on an appropriate recommendation that is communicated to Federal agencies and the public.

Emergency Preparedness and Continuity of Operations Committee
This Committee will share information and sponsor programs to assist Federal agencies in being prepared for emergencies. Some areas of consideration will be COOP training, crisis communications, and table topic exercises. This committee is advised by FEMA and is comprised of civilian, military, law enforcement, and postal employees.

The primary objective is to prepare and promote safety and health related programs and to address the safety and health issues and concerns of the Pittsburgh Federal community at large.
