Coalition Forces target Taliban in Zabul

KABUL, Afghanistan - Coalition Forces detained one militant during an operation to disrupt the Taliban's network in Zabul province, Tuesday.

In Jaldak District, approximately 65 km northeast of Kandahar City, Coalition Forces detained a Taliban commander wanted for his ties to the roadside bombing network along Highway one and the recent bridge attack in Zabul province on Dec. 31.

Coalition Forces called out to the targeted individual inside the compound to come out peacefully resulting in one militant detained. Two women and five children were present and Coalition Forces ensured their safety during the operation.
