William H. Markle Memorial Golf Classic

From the Executive Director....
On Saturday, July 25th over 70 people turned out in support of this first year event at Montague Golf Club in Randolph, VT. It was a gorgeous day for golf and everyone had a great time. Proceeds raised through the tournament were generously donated to seven different community organizations throughout Central Vermont chosen by the Markle family. We are honored to have been named as one of the recipient organizations for this inaugural event in honor of Bill's legacy. During the banquet at the Three Stallion Inn, a check was presented by the Markle family for $1300.00 to the Central VT/NH Valley Red Cross Chapter. Our sincere thanks to the Markle Family for their continued and generous support.

blackSAF Volunteers Needed

For service to the Armed Forces, (SAF) The Red Cross serves as the primary emergency communications link between military families and service members around the world. If an area resident needs to reach a military family member concerning a birth, death, medical emergency, change in child care arrangement or other family-related crisis, Red Cross staff and volunteers verify and deliver the information to the service member.

Our local volunteers make this emergency communications link happen by agreeing to receive phone calls one or two nights a month from families, and then delivering or verifying the information into the communications systems operated by the American Red Cross. The link happens by phone or by the internet.
