July Monthly Steel Fact Sheet
The preliminary data released today show that overall steel imports in July 2007 increased 6 percent from June 2007. The change in July’s total amount of steel imports was due primarily to an increase in most carbon categories (excluding standard pipe, wire rod, galvanized and hot-rolled sheets). July 2007 imports of steel mill products were down 25 percent compared to July 2006.
