purple loosestrife invades a wetland

Welcome to the Purple Pages website about Purple Loosestrife, biological control, and the impact of invasive species on wetlands in Michigan. Through the Purple Loosestrife Project, Michigan citizens and young adults have assisted in the control of purple loosestrife using the plant's natural enemies, Galerucella beetles.

By participating in the Purple Loosestrife Project, students have learned about Michigan's natural resources, invasive species and biological control.  If your class would like to help, please consider collecting and redistributing beetles to a wetland in your area.
