Online Training

CERC Online. The course has been designed to serve those who will perform crisis and risk communication and media relations in the event of a public health emergency. Course book listed below.

CERC Online: Pandemic Influenza. The course has been designed to provide vital communication concepts and tools to assist in preparing for and responding to a severe influenza pandemic in the United States. Course book listed below.

In-person Training

One- to one-and-a-half-day class that focuses on information surrounding an intense public health emergency as well as the psychology of risk communication.

Two-day Basic CERC/RiskSmart Certification Training

  • When: October 27 and 28, 2009 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day
  • Where: CDC's Roybal Campus in Atlanta, Georgia at the Global Communications Center, Building 19, Room 256/257
  • Registration: HHS and CDC staff may register for the training in the HHS Learning Portal. All others, please register by sending an email to CERCinfo@cdc.gov.

Course Books

You may order course books for your local CERC training session. Send an email to CERCrequest@cdc.gov with your name, mailing address, organization, date, and location of your CERC training session. Limit 100 books per training session. There is no charge for CERC course books. All course books are 8x11 inches.
