Listed below are the various sites to which Mickey Leland Energy Fellows may be assigned for summer internships:

U.S. Department of Energy Field Sites

National Energy Technology Laboratory - The National Energy Technology Laboratory is the lead field center for the Office of Fossil Energy's research and development program. Scientists at its Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Morgantown, West Virginia, campuses conduct onsite research while contract administrators oversee nearly 700 federally-sponsored projects conducted by private sector research partners. National Energy Technology Laboratory - National Petroleum Technology Office - The Tulsa, Oklahoma-based arm of the National Energy Technology Laboratory is responsible for managing the Office of Fossil Energy's oil research and development program.

Albany Research Center - Researchers at this Energy Department facility in Albany, Oregon, are specialists in advanced materials with particular expertise in wear and corrosion, melting and casting, and materials development. Link to web site >

Rocky Mountain Oilfield Testing Center - Located on the federal Naval Petroleum Reserve #3 near Casper, Wyoming, this facility offers an operating oil field as a test site for both federal and private sector oil technology experiments. Link to web site >

Strategic Petroleum Reserve Project Management Office - Based outside of New Orleans, Louisiana, this office oversees the day-to-day operations of the major crude oil storage sites and logistical facilities for the nation's emergency oil stockpile. Link to web site >

Pacific Northwest National Laboratory - PNNL is a multiprogram laboratory located on the Hanford Reservation near Richland, Washington.PNNL's areas of research, from fundamental science to eventual commercial application, fall into six main areas: energy, environment, health and safety, information technology, national security and nuclear technology. Argonne National Laboratory - Argonne National Laboratory in Argonne, Illinois, in suburban Chicago, conducts research in four broad categories: basic science involving materials, physics, chemistry, biology, high-energy physics, mathematics and computer science; scientific facilities like the Advanced Photon Source; energy resource programs involving development of such technologies as advanced batteries and fuel cells; and environmental management that includes work in risk and economic impact assessments, hazardous waste site analysis, and remediation planning.

Lawrence Berkely National Laboratory - Located adjacent to the Berkeley campus of the University of California in Berkeley, California, LBNL conducts research in advanced materials, life sciences, energy efficiency, and subatomic detectors and particle accelerators. Link to web site >
