In order to become an approved FHA Title I (Home Improvement Loan Program) or Title II (Traditional Fixed and Adjustable Rate First Mortgage Programs) lender, an application package must be submitted to the Office of Lender Approval and Recertification in HUD Headquarters for review of the lender's qualifications. The appropriate application can be obtained by accessing HUD's Lender Approval Web Page and downloading the necessary file(s). Complete application packages, instructions covering the lender approval process and lender qualification requirements are available via links posted on this same web page. Alternatively, an application may also be requested by calling the customer service division of HUD's Direct distribution center at: (800) 767-7468 or by faxing your request to (202) 708-2313. Ask for the Title I Application Package - Stock No. 4112 or Title II Application Package - Stock No. 4113, as appropriate.

If you have any questions regarding the status of your application, please visit the FHA Resource Center for contact information. Due to high call volume, we suggest e-mail for the most efficient handling of inquiries.

Please see HUD Handbook 4000.2 and 4000.4 and visit the lender homepage
