Interior Insular Affairs to Hold Teleconference on Business Opportunities in the Islands Conference

Climate Change Expert Featured Speaker

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The U.S. Department of the Interior’s Office of Insular Affairs today announced that acting Deputy Assistant Secretary Nikolao Pula will be hosting a media conference call on Wednesday, March 18 at 4:30 p.m., Eastern Standard Time, to discuss Interior’s upcoming Conference on Business Opportunities in the Islands.

Credentialed media are invited to join the teleconference by calling tollfree 1-888-324-2910. The toll number for international callers is 1-517-308-9498. The participant passcode is BUSINESS.

The Department recently announced the roster of featured speakers for the Conference, including Dr. Stephen Schneider of Stanford University, who has authored numerous papers for the prestigious Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). In 2007, former U.S. Vice President Al Gore and several other IPCC contributors, including Dr. Schneider, received the Nobel Peace Prize.
