Paulsen Introduces Legislation to Expand Health Savings Accounts
07/31/09Washington, D.C. – Congressman Erik Paulsen (MN-03) today introduced legislation to expand and improve the benefits available to Americans who use Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) as part of their health care coverage portfolio. The legislation will be included as one provision in the Medical Rights and Reform Act, a comprehensive health care reform alternative supported by Paulsen and being offered by a group of moderate House members. Paulsen's legislation expands HSAs by including: provisions for greater "catch-up" contributions, expanding HSA options for seniors, removing restrictions on veterans who use HSAs and expanding the number of medical expenses that can be covered to encourage a greater focus on prevention.

Paulsen Praises Approval of Key Funding for Minnesota National Guard
07/30/09WASHINGTON –Congressman Erik Paulsen (MN-03) today praised the passage of funding he requested and secured with members of the Minnesota Congressional delegation for two key Minnesota National Guard programs, one aimed at strengthening reintegration services for soldiers returning home and another for improving communications and response capabilities during state emergencies such as floods or other natural disasters. These appropriations were part of the Fiscal Year 2010 Department of Defense Appropriations bill that passed the House of Representatives today on a vote of 400 to 30.

Paulsen Secures Funding for Critical Transportation Improvements in 3rd District
07/24/09WASHINGTON – Funding for critical transportation infrastructure projects secured by Congressman Erik Paulsen (MN-03) passed the U.S. House of Representative today. Appropriations for the Interstate 94 - Brockton Lange Interchange, the Highway 169-Interstate 494 Interchange and Highway 610 construction were included as part of the Fiscal Year 2010 Transportation, Housing and Urban Development appropriations bill.
