WRC-11 Advisory Committee

The advisory committee is chartered under the Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA) to provide to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) advice, technical support, and recommended proposals for the 2011 World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC-11).

Preliminary views and proposals are drafted and discussed within each of the advisory committee’s five Informal Working Groups (IWGs). Drafts approved by the IWGs are presented to the full advisory committee. Those approved by the advisory committee become the committee’s recommendations to the FCC where they are published for public comment. After consideration by the U.S. Government, many of the recommendations become a part of the U.S. views and draft proposals that form the basis for discussions at bilateral, regional, and international meetings in preparation for WRC-11.
