The Appointee Directory

The Presidential Transition Act of 2000, gives the General Services Administration (GSA) additional responsibilities to support the incoming Administration.  GSA will, with the National Archives and Records Administration, develop an appointee directory.

The directory helps potential appointees and key officials who are ”confronted by an overwhelming amount of material” gain a better understanding of the federal government.  It provides an overview of each department and agency and includes such information as:

  • Statutory and administrative authorities;
  • Functions, duties, responsibilities, and mission of each department and agency;
  • Organizational structure;
  • Agency Key Officials
