Facilitating Integrated ITS Deployment Overview

The mission of the ITS Deployment Team is to develop, and support implementation of, intelligent Transportation System (ITS) policies and programs aimed at increasing the level of integrated ITS deployment throughout the country. The team supports several programs:

• Architecture Implementation
• Standards Implementation
• ITS Integration Program (Earmarks)
• Systems Engineering
• Rural ITS
• ITS Telecommunications

Within these programs, the team develops ITS program strategies and provides technical and program guidance to Federal field office staff so that they are equipped with the skills, knowledge, and information to effectively support integrated ITS deployment, and other key ITS initiatives, with state and local transportation agencies.
