 Download PDF Download  Master Chief William R. James Master Chief Clemons assumed the duties of Command Master Chief Coast Guard Atlantic Area on July 10th, 2008.

Command Master Chief  Clemons enlisted in the United States Coast Guard on 18 September, 1978.  He completed  recruit training at USCG Recruit Training Center Alameda, California.

Command Master Chief Clemons graduated Electrician’s Mate “A” School Training, Governors Island New York in 1980. His Afloat Units include the Coast Guard Cutters MIDGETT (WHEC 726), CAPE CORWIN (WPB 95326), and MELLON (WHEC 717). His shore tours include Coast Guard Station Port O’connor TX, Aids to Navigation Team Sandusky OH, LORAN Station Kure Atoll HI, Coast Guard Reserve Training Center Yorktown VA, and Coast Guard Supply Center Curtis Bay MD.

Master Chief Clemons’ previous Commandant Designated  Command Master Chief tours include the Fifth Coast Guard District Portsmouth VA, Coast Guard Training Center Yorktown VA,  the Ninth Coast Guard District Cleveland OH, and Coast Guard Headquarters Washington DC.

Master Chief Clemons is a graduate of the Coast Guard Chief Petty Officer's Academy, Class XXIV.  His personal  awards include 4 Meritorious Service Medals, 2 Coast Guard Commendation Medals, 2 Coast Guard Achievement Medals, his Permanent Cutterman's Insignia and the Boat Forces Insignia.
