Audio/Video Events This page provides free worldwide access via the Internet to live and pre-recorded webcasts of selected FCC events. All events are held in the FCC Commission Meeting Room (Room TW-C305, 445 12th Street, S.W., Washington, D.C.) unless noted otherwise. Links for live events will be activated approximately 5 minutes prior to the published start time. To display the link for the live A/V stream, you must update the page at the meeting’s scheduled start time by clicking on your browser's reload/refresh button. When the live A/V link is enabled (clickable), click on the link to connect your media player to the live media stream. All FCC webcasts are provided in RealMedia file format (How to Play our A/V Files). Any time an Internet user connects or reconnects during the broadcast, they will join the meeting in progress. All live broadcasts are recorded and are available for future playback through links in the A/V Archives box in the left-hand column of this page. Broadband Workshop on Economic Growth, Job Creation, and Private Investment - 9:30 am The goal of this workshop is to evaluate the potential effects of increased broadband penetration and speed on U.S. productivity growth, economic growth, and employment. Broadband Workshop on Job Training - 1:30 pm The goal of this workshop is to identify potential impact of increased broadband access on job training and job placement.
Open Commission Meeting - 10:00 am The Commissioners' public meeting to discuss and vote on items that are before the Commission. Broadband Workshop on Technology/Applications and Devices - 1:30 pm The goal of this workshop is to explore trends in the use of and development of broadband applications and devices.
Broadband Workshop on Health Care - 9:30 am The goal of this workshop is to gather information concerning how and where broadband networks are deployed to provide telehealth services throughout the nation. Broadband Workshop on Benchmarks - 1:30 pm The goal of this workshop will be to explore various metrics or benchmarks for evaluating the various dimensions of broadband across geographic areas and across time.
Broadband Workshop on Best Practices/Big Ideas - 9:30 am The goal of this workshop is to consider some of the ideas that would address the congressional goals but that do not fit neatly into any of the other workshops, in part because the ideas cross so many different topics.
Broadband Workshop on Broadband Consumer Experience - 1:30 pm The goal of this workshop is to consider ways in which broadband can improve consumer welfare and what are the barriers to consumers enjoying those benefits.
Consumer Advisory Committee Meeting - 9:00 am - 4:00 pm The purpose of the Committee is to make recommendations to the Commission regarding consumer issues within the jurisdiction of the Commission and to facilitate the participation of all consumers in proceedings before the Commission. At this meeting, the Committee will focus upon broadband and the development of the National Broadband Plan.
