Pelosi le da la Bienvenida a Organizaciones Hispanas Nacionales Durante Una Reunión del Caucus Hispano
Washington, D.C. – De bajo esta un extracto de las declaraciones que hizo la Presidenta de la Camara Nancy Pelosi esta mañana en una reunión del Caucus Hispano del Congreso y organizaciones hispanas:
“Gracias, y buenos días. Quiero darle las gracias a Nydia Velázquez por su tremendo liderazgo, y por su bienvenida calurosa. Me uno a mis colegas a dar la bienvenida a todos los líderes de estas instituciones que nos acompañan aquí hoy.
“El Caucus Hispano del Congreso, ha estado a la vanguardia dándole una voz a sus inquietudes. Como ustedes pueden ver, es un grupo que dirige los problemas críticos que enfrenta nuestro país, ya sea nuestra seguridad económica, nuestra seguridad nacional, la educación y el cuidado médico de nuestros niños, o el mejoramiento de nuestro medioambiente.
“A las organizaciones Hispanas aquí presentes, que su trabajo es muy importante para nosotros. Las experiencias que ustedes comparten aquí se convertirán en acción por este Caucus, y ojalá en legislación y también en el mejoramiento en las políticas públicas que afectan directamente a las personas que sus organizaciones representan. Estas es una reunión muy importante para todos nosotros. Reconozcan su poder; su experiencia colectiva es muy valorizada por con los Congresista en este sala, y ellos las convertirán en hechos.
“Les agradezco la oportunidad que me han otorgado junto con mis colegas para darles la bienvenida. Les deseo muchos éxitos. Pasamos por tiempos difíciles en nuestro país, pero aun existen oportunidades no obstante enfrentamos crisis. Sin embargo, debemos salir adelante correctamente y sólo podemos lograrlo escuchándolos a todos ustedes.
“Muchísimas gracias a todos.”
Pelosi’s Remarks at Congressional Hispanic Caucus’ Latino Roundtable
Washington, D.C. –Speaker Nancy Pelosi spoke to leaders of national Hispanic organizations at the Congressional Hispanic Caucus’ Latino Roundtable. Below are excerpts from her remarks:
“Thank you, and good morning. I want to thank Nydia Velazquez for her tremendous leadership, for her generous welcome, and I join my colleagues in welcoming all the leaders of these institutions’ who are here today.
“Let me start by saying that the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, has been in the forefront of giving a voice to the concerns that you all have. As you can see, it is a group that takes the lead on the critical issues facing our country; whether it is our economic security, our national security, the education and health care of our children, or the well being of our environment.
“To the Hispanic organizations that are here, let me just say your work is very important to us, the experiences that you will share here today will be translated into action by this caucus, and hopefully into legislation and improvement in public policy that makes a differences in the lives of the people you represent. This is an important meeting for all of us. Know your power on this; your experiences resonate with the Members in this room, and they will translate them into action.
“So thank you very much for the opportunity for me to join my colleagues in welcoming you all here. I wish you much success. These are difficult times in our country, yet there are new opportunities in this crisis. However, we must do this in the right way, and we can only do that by listening to all of you.
“Thank you all so much.”
