The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) has scheduled two industry seminars for environmental training. The first session will be held May 13-15, 2008 in New Orleans, Louisiana Event Details; the second session will be held September 16-18, 2008 in the Portland, Oregon area. (NOTE: The actual venue location is in Vancouver, Washington). The training seminars will be delivered by FERC staff and consultants PDF with significant industry experience.

The FERC Regulatory Overview and Guidance Seminar PDF will provide an overview of FERC's environmental regulations for natural gas pipeline, storage, and liquefied natural gas (LNG) facilities; address reporting requirements for blanket certificate projects; highlight key minimum filing requirements for the Environmental Report required for new applications; explain the guidelines for Resource Report 13 for LNG projects; and discuss post-certificate filing requirements for larger projects.

The FERC Environmental Compliance Seminar PDF will explain construction and restoration requirements for natural gas pipeline construction projects and provide a detailed overview of the FERC Upland Erosion Control, Revegetation, and Maintenance Plan and the FERC Wetland and Waterbody Construction and Mitigation Procedures.

The Pipeline 101 early morning program is designed for those participants who are inexperienced in basic pipeline construction practices, equipment, and terminology. This session will help participants get the most out of the rest of the program.

The seminars are held at the same hotel in which lodging has been arranged. There is no charge to register External Link, however space is limited. All participants must register in advance to attend these training seminars.
