Division of Intramural Research Labs
Scientists in NIAID’s Division of Intramural Research (DIR) conduct basic and clinical research covering a wide range of disciplines related to immunology, allergy, and infectious diseases. DIR researchers study all aspects of infectious diseases, including the causative agent, vectors, and pathogenesis in human and animal hosts. Clinical research is also integral to the mission of DIR, allowing key lab discoveries to be rapidly translated into methods to prevent, diagnose, or treat disease. Read more about DIR.
