41-foot boat maintenance

Two Coast Guard members are organizing the nuts and bolts of an engine from inside the deck of a 41-foot utility boat. The men are in a compartment below the deck of the boat

SAN FRANCISCO - Petty Officer 1st Class William Dowell (left) and Petty Officer 3rd  Isaac Adames bag nuts and bolts in order to stay organized while they work on an engine in the 41-foot utility boat.  The boat from Coast Guard Station Vallejo is at Sector San Francisco where it can be hoisted out of the water and undergo routine maintenance. Dowell and Adames are machinery technicians at Coast Guard Station Vallejo and, like all machinery technicians, fix and maintain the Coast Guard's own boats.
