Today’s Capture Schedules
View the scenes to be acquired today. Landsat 7 collects approximately 300 scenes per day, in accordance with the Long Term Acquisition Plan (LTAP). Landsat 5 must be in direct contact with a ground receiving station in order to capture an image. Scenes are generally available for search and order within 6-24 hours after downlink.

Pending Acquisitions and Archive
View the upcoming Landsat 5 and Landsat 7 acquisitions, as well as the archive of scheduled and completed acquisitions.
After the Scan Line Corrector (SLC) malfunctioned, all normal Enhanced Thematic Mapper Plus (ETM+) image acquisitions were suspended until it was determined that the instrument could be operated in SLC-off mode without further adverse impacts to the instrument.
The standard Long Term Acquisition Plan (LTAP) acquisition schedule was resumed on July 14, 2003. Since that date, Landsat 7 has acquired at least 250 scenes per day for the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) archive in SLC-off mode (excluding brief periods for engineering activities). Since the release of Landsat 7 gap-filled products, acquisitions have increased to approximately 300 per day to make available more potential scenes for gap-filled products.
International Ground Station (IGS) downlinks were suspended during the SLC investigation period. IGS acquisitions were resumed in October-November 2003.

These maps show the areas of Earth that are imaged throughout the year, and also the areas of land that are not collected due to the sun angle.
Landsat 7 Long Term Acquisition Plan (LTAP7)
The LTAP directs the acquisition of Landsat 7 scenes, using parameters such as seasonality, land definition, historical cloud cover, gain settings, and sun angle.
