Joseph F. Calcara

The Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army for Installations & Housing (DASA-I&H) provides worldwide policy, programming and oversight of the Secretary of the Army's Title 10 US Code responsibilities in the areas of real estate, military construction, engineering, housing and base realignments and closures (BRAC). DASA-I&H also provides oversight reviews, approvals, congressional testimony and notifications as required by statutes in the relevant areas.

The office's vision is to create sustainable installations that support missions of the transformed Army with land, buildings and infrastructure providing excellent quality of life support for soldiers and their families. To that end, a major objective is to secure the necessary resources to sustain Army installations and establish policies and oversight that ensure the effective and efficient use of those resources.
