Comments on the June 2001 Report of the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission :"Medicare In Rural America"





Abstract:

The purpose of this policy paper is to advance a policy discussion yielding changes in the Medicare program that are responsive to the needs of rural America. The Rural Health Panel of the Rural Policy Research Institute (RUPRI) specifically addresses recommendations made by the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission (MedPAC) in their "Medicare in Rural America" report and also critiques MedPAC's lack of recommendations regarding several findings.
