General Counsel Vacancies
Foreign Service Attorneys — USAID
The United States Agency for International Development, which implements the U.S. economic and humanitarian foreign assistance program, expects to have openings for Foreign Service attorneys during the next several months.
Positions will require overseas assignment in developing countries including the Agency's Critical Priority Countries of Iraq, Afghanistan, Sudan and Pakistan, following an initial period in Washington, D.C. Applicant duties will include: formulating and furnishing legal advice and assistance with respect to planned or ongoing USAID programs and operations, and providing legal advice in connection with arrangements with other USG agencies, regional, international and private sector entities.
Applicants should have a minimum of 4 years of experience practicing as a private or government attorney, of which at least one year should be specialized experience working as an attorney with responsibility at a level close to that of this position. Your specialized experience should have given you the particular knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform in this position. Typically we would find this experience in legal work of a transactionally oriented nature or focus.
Applicants must be U.S. citizens and licensed attorneys in the U.S. who are members in good standing of a bar of a state, territory of the United States, District of Columbia, or Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.
