    Research Summary

    Real Gross Domestic Product (GDP) fell an annualized 1 percent in the second quarter of 2009, significantly less than the previous quarter's 6.4 percent drop. These and other economic trends are discussed in the latest update to the Quarterly Indicators: The Economy and Small Business.

    The Office of Advocacy has posted additional economic research opportunity in the broadband area on FedBizOpps.
    Broadband Research Opportunities

    The Census Bureau has released 2005-2006 updates to the Statistics of U.S. Businesses, produced with partial funding from Advocacy. The newly added data include business openings/closings and job creation/destruction by industry and geographic location. One new component of this release is establishment births and closures by county.
    Firm Size Data

    Sixteen percent of high-impact, high-tech firms have at least one immigrant founder, according to a study, High-tech Immigrant Entrepreneurship in the United States, released by Advocacy.
