5 CFR Part 841 -- Retirement and
Insurance--Automation and Simplification of FERS Employee Record
Keeping During an Intra-Agency Transfer: Interim rule.
The Office of Personnel Management (OPM)
is issuing interim regulations to allow the automated transfer of
Federal Employees' Retirement System (FERS) employee payroll account
information from one payroll office to another, within the same agency,
eliminating the requirement of creating and forwarding a hard copy
Individual Retirement Record (IRR) to OPM for each intra-agency transfer.
When an employee is no longer employed by the agency or is no longer
covered under FERS, a comprehensive IRR will then be forwarded to OPM.

Privacy Act of 1974: Computer Matching
Programs--OPM/Social Security Administration: Publication of notice
of computer matching to comply with Public Law 100-503, the Computer
Matching and Privacy Protection Act of 1988.
OPM is publishing notice of its computer matching
program with the Social Security Administration (SSA) to meet the
reporting requirements of Public Law 100-503. The purpose of this
match is for SSA to disclose benefit information to OPM to offset
specific benefits.

Systems; Abolishment of the King, WA, Nonappropriated Fund Wage
Area; Final rule.
The Office of Personnel Management is issuing
a final rule that will abolish the King, Washington, nonappropriated
fund (NAF) Federal Wage System (FWS) wage area, establish a new
Snohomish, WA, NAF FWS wage area, and remove Whatcom County, WA, as
an area of application.
DATES: Effective Date: This regulation is effective on May 5, 2000.
