Field Hospital Operation Deployed

On Monday, Sept. 5, NIH deployed the first wave of medical staff from the NIH Bethesda campus and Duke Medical Center to begin work in our assigned field hospital in Key Field at the Air National Guard Base in Meridian, Mississippi. On September 4, an advance team was sent to begin set up of the 250-bed hospital and additional staff will soon deploy to Mississippi to assist. NIH continues to operate a national coordination and referral center for specialty medical consultation and the Clinical Center has made 100 beds available here in Bethesda for accepting patient transfer should the need arise.
