In April, we marked President Barack Obama’s first 100 days in office and his partnership with the 111th Congress. In that short time, Democrats have made significant progress by:
- Creating and saving 3.5 million jobs with the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act
- Providing cost-effective health care coverage for 11 million American children
- Restoring the rights of women and other workers to challenge unfair pay with the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act
- Launching a new era of public service with the Edward M. Kennedy Serve America Act

Dear Friend:
Earlier this month, Congress boldly and swiftly delivered on President Obama’s promise of new jobs, new hope, and a New Direction for the American people by approving the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. This transformational economic policy, both transparent and accountable, will bring stability to the economy and inspire confidence in the American people. President Obama signed the legislation into law on February 17th, and it took immediate effect. To learn more about the bill, click here.

Speaker Pelosi's Progress Report - October 2008
Dear Friend:
On October 3, the House passed HR 1424, the Economic Stabilization Plan and Tax Extender Package, by a vote of 263 to 171.The bill was immediately signed into law by the President that same day. This improved economic rescue plan is designed to stabilize our markets, reimburse the taxpayers for investments, reform our financial system, and reinvigorate our economy.
