Summary:
This is a Request for Information (RFI) and not a Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA). DOE is seeking input from energy project developers, equipment vendors, engineers, investors, bankers, inventors and the like, for purposes of formulating and drafting a solicitation for applications under under a $10 billion loan guarantee authority under Title XVII of the Energy Policy Act of 2005.
The solicitation for loan guarantees would encourage commercial development of new or significantly improved renewable energy, energy efficiency, and related transmission technologies. The technologies would have the potential to create more affordable and diversified energy sources and greater productivity and efficiency in energy use.
DOE will not pay for information provided under this RFI, and there is no guarantee that there will be a FOA as a result of this RFI.

ADDITIONAL PUBLIC MEETING NOTICE

In addition to the May 8, 2008, Industry Day to be held in Washington, D.C., as identified in this Request For Information, the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy will host an Industry Day, on Thursday, May 8, 2008, at the Electric Power Research Institute, 3420 Hillview Ave., Palo Alto, California 94304.
The presentation and overview will be provided from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. A second presentation session may be scheduled from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. depending on responses to this invitation.
Participants need to check in at the front desk to receive their badge. Space is limited for these meetings. Only those respondents who have received an acknowledgement from our office will be permitted to attend the meeting.
