Zurich Observatory

From the inception of the sunspot number index until the end of 1980, the Swiss Federal Observatory at Schmelzbergstrasse 25 in Zurich served as the coordinating office for an international network of dedicated solar observers. The photograph shows how the facility and its surroundings looked in 1905.
