Directions to NASA Langley Research Center
Please note:
These directions have changed as of the summer of 2008 due to construction on Magruder Blvd. that has removed the west-bound exit from Magruder onto Commander Shepard Blvd.
We now recommend that travelers take a slightly different route to get to NASA Langley to avoid the construction and detour.

From points west, north (i.e., Richmond, Williamsburg and Newport News - Williamsburg International Airport)
- I-64 East, Exit 261B, onto Hampton Roads Center Parkway. Exit marked "NASA."
- Parkway ends in approximately 1.8 miles.
- Turn left onto Armistead Ave. (Rt. 172)
- You will pass the Langley Air Force Base West Gate in approximately 1.2 miles. Move into the right lane.
- Bear right to remain on Armistead Ave.
- Travel approx. 0.25 miles.
- The NASA Langley Main Gate and the Badge & Pass Office will be on your right at the first stoplight.
From points east, south (i.e., Virginia Beach, Norfolk International Airport)
- I-64 West. Pass through the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel.
- Take exit 262B, onto Magruder Blvd.
- Exit right onto Hampton Roads Center Parkway at the overpass at the second stoplight
- Turn left onto Armistead Ave. (Rt. 172) from either of the two left lanes (of three) at the second stoplight.
- You will pass the Langley Air Force Base West Gate in approximately 1.2 miles. Move into the right lane.
- Bear right to remain on Armistead Ave.
- Travel approx. 0.25 miles.
- The NASA Langley Main Gate and the Badge & Pass Office will be on your right at the first stoplight.
