OZETTE LAKE SOCKEYE ESU
THREATENED


ESU STATUS AND DESCRIPTION:  Listed as a threatened species on March 25, 1999; threatened status reaffirmed on June 28, 2005.  The ESU includes all naturally spawned populations of sockeye salmon in Ozette Lake and streams and tributaries flowing into Ozette Lake, Washington, as well as two artificial propagation programs: the Umbrella Creek and Big River sockeye hatchery programs.

CRITICAL HABITAT STATUS: A final designation was published on September 2, 2005 (9.7 Mb PDF), with an effective date of January 2, 2006. 

PROTECTIVE REGULATIONS:  Final revised protective regulations were issued for this ESU on June 28, 2005.
