COPS Hiring Recovery Program (CHRP)
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 allocates $1 billion to the U.S. Department of Justice Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) for the COPS Hiring Recovery Program (CHRP). Approximately 5,500 additional sworn law enforcement officers will be added to agencies across the country through funding provided by this program. The Tribal Resources Grant Program (TRGP) is Now Closed!
Thank you for your interest in the COPS Tribal Resources Grant Program 2009 (TRGP 2009). The application was open through April 10, 2009, and is now closed. In the coming weeks, the COPS Office will be reviewing applications and all applicants will be notified whether they will receive TRGP grant funding on or before September 30, 2009. The Secure Our Schools Program (SOS) is Now Closed!
Thank you for your interest in the COPS Secure Our Schools (SOS) 2009 grant program. The application, initially open through May 8, 2009 with the deadline extended to May 15, is now closed. Based on the number of applications received in the past, the COPS Office anticipates SOS to be highly competitive. In the coming weeks, the COPS Office will be reviewing applications and all applicants will be notified whether they will receive SOS grant funding no later than September 30, 2009. Funding to Faith-Based and Community Organizations

Consistent with President George W. Bush's Executive Order 13279, dated December 12, 2002, and 28 C.F.R. Part 38, it is COPS policy that faith-based and community organizations that statutorily qualify as eligible applicants under COPS programs are invited and encouraged to apply for assistance awards to fund eligible grant activities.
