US GOVERNMENT PROVIDES INTERNATIONAL COLLEGE WITH $400,000 FOR STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS

The United States Agency for International Development/Lebanon Mission Director Denise A. Herbol presented a check for $400,000 to Mr. John Johnson, President of the International College on January 21, 2009. 

This check is the full payment of the grant that the College received from USAID for academic year 2007-2008 to help 114 students pursue their studies. As a result of this assistance, students have the opportunity to receive an American-style education as well as increase their job opportunities following graduation.

USAID has worked in Lebanon since 1951 and implemented development projects to benefit Lebanese citizens. With funds from the American people, USAID creates jobs, invests in youth and protects the environment.  USAID’s work reflects the strong friendship between the Lebanese and American people.
